We do not have to agree with President Barack Obama, but the Bible does command us to pray for him in I Timothy 2:2: ‘For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.’   As born again Christians, we are to pray for our president, no matter how much we disagree with his viewpoint.   God is testing our hearts during his second term and He is expecting us to obey His Word.   If we expect for things to turn around in this country, we must pray for President Barack Obama.

As righteous believers, our obedience to God’s Word will pay off.   You may not understand dear sisters and brothers, but-think about when God commands us to pray for our enemies.  Think about those whom constantly mistreat us and are too selfish to even care about our distress they caused us.   President Barack Obama is someone we personally do not know, he is the ruler of America who is allegedly doing something that offends God, according to His Word.  Yes, in a lot of ways as God’s children, we have the right to be upset, regarding the president’s opinions, which God does not condone.  However, just as we are supposed to pray for our enemies which is not easy, we should include the president in our prayers too.   Not saying we have to let go our our morals and values a based on God’s Word and certainly not saying we have to mingle with gay affirming people, but it is a commandment we should pray for those in authority.  Believe me, God knows what is going on and He sees everything, but He is also evaluating how we are responding to President Obama’s leadership.  We have every right to be holy and disagree with something we know offends God, but He just asked us to do one thing and that is, to pray for those in government or any others in authority.  No doubt, if we continue to pray for President Barack Obama, God will change his mind and deal with his heart.

Do you recognize the enemy does not want us to pray for our president?   When we do not pray for people we disagree with, that is Satan’s way to work through a spirit of malice and God does not agree with it.  Therefore, let us continue to pray while upholding righteousness against all sin, which includes homosexuality as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Leviticus 18:22Leviticus 20:13 and Romans 1:26-27 .
